Private Training vs Group Training: What’s Right for You?
“Should I do private training or join a group class?”, is one of the most common questions, most people who are just starting their fitness journey, ask themselves.
Well, it depends on your goals, your schedule, and what kind of environment helps you thrive.
At Golden Hour CrossFit, here in Piņķi (just outside Riga), we offer both private training and small group training. And each has its unique benefits.
Let’s break it down so you can decide what’s right for you.
Private Training:1-on-1 Coaching for Faster Results
With personal training, everything is tailored to You – your body, your goals, and your pace.
The Benefits:
- Custom Programming
Whether you want to lose weight, build muscle, or recover from injury, we create a training plan just for you. - Maximum Flexibility
Book sessions when it suits your schedule – mornings, evenings, in the middle of the day. You name it! We are here for you. - Full Attention
Your coach is focused 100% on you, correcting movement, motivating you, and tracking your progress. - Faster Progress
People reach their goals faster with personalized guidance and accountability. Period.
Choose personal training if:
- You are a beginner who wants that extra support
- You have an injurie or serious mobility limitations
- You are a busy professional with changing schedule
- One of your goals is to prepare for a specific event (trip to mountains, rough environments, competition)
Small Group Training: Motivation & Community in a Small Group
Our group classes aren’t your typical packed gym session.
We keep it small. Max 5 people. So, you still get individual attention and expert coaching.
The Benefits:
- Built-in Motivation
Training alongside others pushes you to work harder and show up consistently. So, if you have a friend who could also benefit greatly from moving more frequently, start together! - Fun + Social
Many of our members say the best part of the workout is that they don’t have to do that alone, but amongst friends. - Coaching Included
Every class is led by a Certified CrossFit Trainer and, yes, he has your best interest - goals, experience and other specifics in mind when scaling the workouts for you. - Affordable
Group training offers professional coaching at a lower price point than 1-on-1, but you still get a lot of coaching and scaling. So, if your schedule allows you attend groups, you should consider group classes.
Choose group classes if:
- You enjoy working out with others
- You value coaching but don’t need full personalization
- You want high energy and accountability
And remember! You don’t have to choose just one. You can combine both options:
1-on-1 sessions to fine-tune skills or overcome challenges, plus group training for energy and routine.
